Classroom Expectations
Respect for yourself, those around you, learning, and the classroom.Coming prepared to class with all necessary supplies (including completed homework ).
Grading/Homework
We use the 80/20 grading scale which means 80% of a students grade is based on summative assessments( meaning end of unit/chapter tests) and 20% of a students grade is based on formative assessments( meaning daily work). It will be very important for students to utilize study guides and review days prior to summative assessments. Students will be allowed to retake summative assessments after school if they score poorly on them within one week of the assessment. Students will need to show that they did more studying prior to retaking summative assessments.
Late Policy
Homework is due when the teacher asks for it/collects it. If a student does not have their homework completed, they will be expected to stay after school to complete the missing homework. If a student forgets an assignment at home, they can turn it in the next day for full credit. If they forget it again, they will be expected to stay after school to complete the missing work. If there is a habit of forgetting homework at home, the grace period of turning it in next day will be removed and they will be expected to stay after the day it was due.
What do I do if I'm absent? You will have two days to make up work for each day that you were absent. It is your responsibility to get make up work and to schedule a time to meet with me before or after school.
