Homework is due when the teacher asks for it/collects it. HMS has a 3 Strikes Policy for missing/late work. Strike 1 is student contacts parents and lets them know they have a missing assignment and they have to stay after school with teacher. Strike 2 is when they have their second missing assignment in that subject during the same trimester. With Strike 2, the teacher contacts the parents and arranges an after school detention. On Strike 3, the teacher writes an academic referral at which point the grade level principal will call the student down to the office and call home regarding the missing work. He/she then assigns an detention for the student to be served in the detention room.
What do I do if I'm absent? You will have two days to make up work for each day that you were absent. It is your responsibility to get make up work and to schedule a time to meet with me before or after school.
